6 . Revisions to U.S. Tariff Policy

Important Notice for U.S. Customers:

※ If you're not located in the United States, your order will not be affected by U.S. policies and you can continue shopping as usual.

※ Please note that the following policy changes apply only to express delivery services within the United States—DHL, FedEx, and UPS (excluding UPS Saver). Other shipping methods are not affected. We recommend choosing duty-free shipping options and continuing to shop as usual.

To help you better understand the latest updates to U.S. customs policies and how they affect your order, we have prepared the following explanatory document. Please read it carefully before placing your order to familiarize yourself with the relevant tariff policies and fee changes, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free shopping experience.

I. Policy Background and Recent Developments

Starting in early 2025, the United States has been tightening its tariff policies on China, aiming to increase oversight of low-value goods and boost tariff revenue.

Recent Updates:
    • Previously, the United States allowed duty-free and streamlined import procedures for goods valued under $800.
    • However, starting May 2, the Trump administration ended the exemption for imports originating from Mainland China and Hong Kong, imposing a 120% tariff based on the declared value. On May 12, it was announced that the tariff rate would be reduced to 54%, and on May 14, it was further lowered to 30%.
Please pay close attention to these changes so you can accurately anticipate and plan for the associated costs when placing your order.

II. Impact of the Policy on Your Order

1. Changes in Tariffs and Fees: Effective from May 14, 2025

1) Declaration Types:

The De Minimis exemption policy has been completely abolished. All imported goods are no longer eligible for duty-free treatment under low-value exemptions. From now on, all items must go through either Formal Entry or Informal Entry customs clearance procedures.

single invoice line ≥ $250 Formal Entry
single invoice line < $250 all invoice line < $250 Informal Entry
$250 ≤ all invoice line < $2,500 Formal Entry Formal Entry Informal Entry

2) Customs Duty Policy:

Please note that buyers are responsible for all costs related to customs duties. If a package is refused or abandoned due to customs issues, BeadsTrend reserves the right to seek compensation from the buyer for any resulting losses.

The estimated final total cost is expected to be at least 60% of the declared value of the goods.
