How to make homemade bangles?

Torque Bangles are a type of cuff bangle with decorative ends. There are two types of decorative ends: removable or immovable. It means that you need to handle them in different ways when you want to design a personalized torque bangle. For the removable ones, you can twist off the ends and add some exquisite large hole European beads. And it is easy for you to add various beads to the bangles because of the smooth arc design. For immovable ones, you can add a jump ring to it first and then hang your favorite charm on the jump ring.

European Style Bangles refer to a kind of bangle with a special clasp that originated in Europe. When you want to make a unique European style bangle, you just need to open the clasp and slide the large hole European beads or dangle charms onto the band. You can also use bead stoppers to keep the beads in place.

Blank Cuff Bangles refer to flat strip materials with plain surface, which can be used to make a stamping or engraving cuff bangles. They give you more freedom to DIY craft bangles with your own designs. You need to prepare a bangle cuff bending bar to bend the strips and adjust it to fit your wrist. Then you can add desirable contents onto it by stamping or laser engraving. If you want to skip the bending step, there are pre-bent blank cuff bangles for your choice.

Blank Bangle Bases are bangles with blank cabochon tray settings that can be matched with cabochons, such as glass cabochons, gemstone cabochons, etc. The tray shape is usually a simple round, oval or square, so that you can match the right cabochon conveniently. To make a unique bangle, you need to prepare the glue, apply it to the tray and attach your favorite cabochon to the tray.

These bangles are round metal wired bangles closed by overlapping wires with wrapped ends. The construction gives them the ability to be adjusted and extended. It is often paired with charms. You can use jump rings to hang the charms on the overlapping wires. The charms can slide freely within this limited section.

This kind of cuff bangles with hooks at the ends are designed to be used with linking rings. The part of the hooks reserved on both sides are used to fasten the linking ring. To attach the linking ring to the bangle, you need to prepare a flat nose plier. Please note that the linking ring should be hung on one side of the pre-curved hook at first, then on the unfinished hook on the other side. Next, you can use your plier to bend the the unfinished hook so that it can lock the linking ring without loosening.

The bangle features a blank button base that it usually comes with. All you need to do is to prepare the appropriate snap button, align its knob with the hole in the button base and press it gently. Then you’ll get your own unique bangle. This button design makes it easy to replace the embellishments.

Difference Between Ion Plating (IP)
and PVD Vacuum Plating

Our stainless steel jewelry undergoes three types of electroplating processes: PVD vacuum plating, ion plating (IP), and water electroplating. Vacuum plating, also known as physical vapor deposition (PVD), is a surface treatment technology. This process involves evaporating or sputtering metal or non-metal materials under vacuum conditions and depositing them onto the surface of the object to create a thin film. PVD technology includes various coating methods, with ion plating (IP) being one of them. Ion plating (IP) is a physical vapor deposition (PVD) process that is sometimes called ion assisted deposition (IAD) or ion vapor deposition (IVD) and is a modified version of vacuum deposition.

The thickness of the plating layer is influenced by the electroplating process and duration. The longer the plating time, the thicker the layer becomes, resulting in longer color preservation.

Below is a brief comparison of the color durability of Ion Plating, PVD Vacuum Plating, and Water Galvanization.

Electroplating Process Feature Metal Color Color Durability
No Electroplating Stainless steel is a non-reactive metal, which means it does not oxidize or tarnish like other metals such as silver or brass. Hypoallergenic. Stainless Steel Color Tarnish resistant, retain its color for a long time
Vacuum Ion Plating(IP) The vacuum plating process is complex and requires specific environmental and equipment conditions, making it a green, environmentally friendly technology. The plating is done in a vacuum oven, resulting in longer color retention and a durable coating. Real Gold Plated
